Fantastic defense ammo
The 20a/20 158 gr soft cast hollow point .38+p is fantastic in my snubby S&W 642 5 shot revolver. Faster, harder hitting, and expands better than the critical defense cartridges I’ve been using. Hope Buffalo Bore never discontinues this ammo. The hard cast is ok but does not expand and over penetrates even in the snubby at close range.

1000 fps out of a snubbie? Yes, please.
Most of us know about the maniacs at Buffalo Bore. If you don't, you should. BB makes some of the best hot performing SD ammo round. My pocket carry is a Smith and Wesson Airweight 642 .38+P snubbie. The BB clocks in at a skoosh over 1,000 fps with this 158 grain LSWCHP out of my 1 7/8" bbl. It's gas checked, so there's no annoying leading. There's also very low flash. Great combination.
Now, I need to tell you THIS IS NOT FUN TO SHOOT AMMO. You are NEVER going to say "Hey, let's go to the range and shoot some of that BB ammo." The recoil out of an Airweight is, putting it mildly, unpleasant. If you are recoil sensitive, this is the wrong ammo for you. Check out the standard pressure version off this load. Still low flash and good velocity. You will find yourself obtaining and maintaining proficiency with this particular round by shooting it enough to accomplish that. I can dump five rounds, even with the OMGRECOIL, in about 3.5-4 seconds in the X-ring at 7 yards. I shoot it just enough to maintain that.
Now, that being said, my wife (who carries a .40 subcompact) loves this out of my steel Smith and Wesson K-frame .357 magnum. It's her preferred load in that gun. So this would be great for those applications as well.
