Walther Q5 Match SF now USPSA Production Legal

Arkansas-based Walther Arms this week announced the Q5 Match Steel Frame pistol is Production Division legal for use in U.S. Practical Shooting Association matches.

The new 9mm Q5 Match Steel Frame, introduced in January, replaces the standard polymer frame and the internal guide rod of the original model with one made entirely of steel. While the change tacks an extra pound to the gun, it results in smoother, faster shooting. The gun, aimed at the competition market, has previously been cleared for IPSC Production and USPSA Carry Optics Division matches.

“We have been very anxious to meet the requirements to have the Q5 Match Steel Frame legal for Production Division,” said Cody Osborn, Walther’s marketing manager. “We have already seen its success in the Carry Optics Division. Now, with some of the top Production shooters in the world using the Steel Frame, we expect to continue our growth in USPSA and see our shooters bring home more trophies.”

Retail on the gun is $1,399.
