Magpul unleashes ‘200%’ Hunter American stock for Ruger American

Texas-based Magpul’s latest entry to their Hunter line of replacement stocks is designed to bring a host of features to Ruger’s American short-action rifle. Billed as “premium performance in an affordable package,” Magpul said the Hunter American stock for the Ruger American is, well, “200 percent” American in a way.
While that is undeniable marketing logic, what is not up for debate is the level of features included with the “drop-in” aftermarket stock to include an anodized aluminum bedding block and fully adjustable length of pull and comb height. The 3.3-pound stock’s polymer construction is reinforced with steel recoil lugs. The handguard is M-Lok compatible for other accessories.

While the LOP is adjustable from 13- to 15-inches with included 0.5-inch spacers, an optional riser kit can be used to adjust cheek weld. For those with .308 and similarly sized chamberings, the stock includes a magazine well to accommodate a PMAG 5 7.62 AC. Those in other calibers would have to go AICS.
About the only thing that is missing is swivel studs, but the stock does have dimpled drill points should the user wish to add them. MSRP is $299. Magpul announced Thursday that they are now shipping.
