After much research and testing I chose this round because of consistent results and the Hornady reputation. I'm shooting a Ruger Presion Rifle

Oops - noticed a couple of typos in my review earlier that make a difference to the reader:
Hornady 140 grain ELDM
Maximum MV should be "(81 fps over published)"
and your expected muzzle velocity (from 24" barrel) should be mostly between 2751 to 2780 fps - with the average still at 2766.
Still an outstanding match round as long as you are aware that it's probably going to shoot hotter than as published. 5-stars remain, and I'd buy more in a heartbeat.

I just finished pushing 40 rounds of the Hornady 140 grain ELD-M rounds through a 6.5mm Creedmoor Ruger Precision Rifle, indoors at 100 yards. After shooting those 40 rounds I shot 10 rounds of their 140 grain Amax to get a comparison point.
I was a bit surprised to find that both the ELD-M and AMAX shot a little hotter than the published muzzle velocity of 2710 fps because my experience with the 120 grain AMAX had shown those to be almost spot on. The numbers are below.
On target results: typically I can put all shots within a 1-inch circle at 100 yards with this rifle, and I maintained that level of accuracy with the ELD-M. This is pretty much what I would expect at 100 yards - remember that Hornady says that the difference in the heat shield tip that improves its trajectory (make it flatter) don't really kick in until about 400 yards out. Have to wait until spring to test at longer ranges myself.
OK - the numbers.
Hornady 81500 (Lot 3153349) 140 grain 6.5mm Creedmoor
Published Muzzle Velocity (MV): 2710 fps.
As measured with a Magnetospeed V3 with 40 samples:
Minimum MV: 2731 fps (21 fps over published)
Maximum MV: 2791 fps (71 fps over published)
Average MV: 2766 fps
Standard Deviation (average difference from the average value):
14.45 fps -- means for the most part you can expect your MV to be in the range of 2751 to 1780 fps.
Hornady 140 grain 6.5mm Creedmoor AMAX
Published Muzzle Velocity (MV): 2710 fps.
Note that Hornady no longer makes the 6.5cm with the AMAX bullet although you'll still find a few (120 grain mostly) on some shelves.
Minimum MV 2750
Maximum MV 2815
Average MV 2772
Std Deviation: 19.3 fps
Will I buy more of these? Yes - at least until I get a chance to grab some of the new 143 grain 'Precision Hunter' rounds and see how they fly, measure up (and cost). That would be my 'go to' bullet in 6.5mm Creedmoor for both target and hunting in my two 6.5mm Creedmoor rifles.
