The newest in Sig Sauer’s Oscar spotting scope series, the Oscar8, is now available to consumers nationwide, according to Sig Sauer.
The Oscar8 brings more power, magnification and advanced features to the Oscar platform, says Sig Sauer. The 27-55x80mm spotting scope boasts an angled eyepiece designed for hunters and outdoor shooters in need of a durable, all-weather model. The angled eyepiece ships with a rotating tripod collar to allow for multiple viewing angles while a rubber armor permits use in a variety of weather conditions.
Measuring 15.27-inches in length, the Oscar8 tips scales at just over 4-pounds and is waterproof at 1-meter for five minutes — a win for hunters who frequently brave adverse weather conditions. The spotting scope pairs extra-low dispersion glass with high light transmittance glass, a Schmidt-Petchan prism and fully multi-coated lenses. The combo allows for “unmatched resolution and image contrast.” The build is topped off with Spectracoat anti-reflection lens coatings designed to reduce surface reflections.
“The introduction of the Oscar8 is an exciting expansion to the Sig Sauer Electro-Optic’s line of spotting scopes, and is the perfect upgrade or addition to any hunter’s pack as they gear-up for the season,” Andy York, President of Sig Sauer Electro-Optics, said in a news release. “The Oscar8 combines our highest-powered magnification capabilities, with durability, versatility, and the latest advancements in glass, coatings and technology, resulting in a superior performance that can be counted on in the field.”
The Oscar8 retails for $1,699.
